Becca Neighbor is a singer/songwriter based out of Nashville, TN. Drawing from a variety of musical influences, she writes a combination of indie/rock melodies with elements of folk and pop instrumentation. She hopes this dual identity translate through her songs as it mirrors her astrological make up, more on this later. She has been writing, recording, and performing from the age of 15. Playing in a rock band all throughout high school, with other Ohio Native talents including Walk the Moon, and Twenty-One Pilots, she was able to gain industry experience at a young age.
Becca made the move to Nashville, TN to attend the Songwriting Program at Belmont University in the spring of 2014. There she was selected to attend the Communion Songwriting Workshop at the Patch House in Brooklyn, NY receiving mentorship from Mumford & Sons’, Ben Lovett, and American Authors’, James Shelley along with many other songwriters and producers. She also formed a band, The B-Sides with fellow Belmont students playing surf-rock anthems around town at well-known venues such as The High Watt, The End and Mercy Lounge.
After graduation she started working for Outlaw Country Artist, Nikki Lane as her personal assistant and tour manager. Spending time out on the road with bands such as JD McPherson, and Lukas Nelson & the Promise of the Reel, Becca was able to experience the demanding life of a touring musician first hand. Becca also had the opportunity to play a set at Stagecoach Music Festival alongside Lane and other acts such as Joshua Hedley and Ruby Boots in Indio, CA.
Becca plans to release her debut solo EP, Blue Moon Baby in the Fall of 2018. When she isn’t writing songs, Becca studies and reads astrology natal charts. All you have to do is tell her what time you were born, and she can spill out an array of information about your personality based on rising sign, moon sign, and more. She hopes to fuse together her passion for both music and astrology by bringing self-awareness and connection to others which she strongly values. This record is a culmination of her early rock band days, surf-rock/beachy pop sounds, as well as folk/Americana inspired introspective lyrics. It is a cohesive collection of sounds that tell a story, and she could not be more excited to share it with her audience.
